hi guys, i,m from adelaide south australia, i bought a BH dicovery 3300 ex the U.S. at the end of october 2011.this is my first detector. i think it,s good, but can,t do any comparision. i read this forum before i decide to get it. cost was $358 inc. 4 inch to OZ.. NOT GOOD FOR WET/DAMP SAND,EVEN DAMP NIGHT AIR, AND ALSO DAMP GRASS SOMETIMES. tho 4 inch coil is better, GB turned back? to preset, sensitivity right down. i do mostly beaches, parks,i have done a few ruin sites, but rusty iron etc is a problem. depth is very good and i tend to go by tones moreso than vdi. i want to get a value priced P.I. unit do do the surf and wet sands etc.
i am a member of aust. metal detecting and relic hunting forum if anyone may like to have a look. it,s greta to read about the finds and treasure that is posted on this forum, and also the community spirit. very hot here lately, 41c the last few days. regards, peter.
