The Hi Pro program is what I use for most of my hunting that I do here in Oregon.
The discriminator is set to be right at the edge iron so all targets other than iron will be accepted. With this setting iron may sound off every now and then, but not enough to be concerned about.
The sensitivity levels are set to a good starting point for most areas that users hunt and they may even have to turn the Rx Gain down to 6 if in a iron infested area so the iron will not be chirp to the point where it is irritating to the ears. The pinpointing/all metal sensitivity might be a little weak for real deep coins but this can always be turned up on the fly as on a deep coin is detected as on the shallower coins I like a little less sensitivity to make pinpointing easier.
The recovery speed is set to 65 and this is where I can tell the differences in the length of the tones between a iron item (high pitch) and a good target such as a coin.
Also the HI Pro program has a faster ground tracking speed as the place where I hunt can change fairly quickly in ground mineralization (Phase and Strength) so a faster tracking speed is required.
The Tones are set up for Tone ID and VCO for pinpointing as this what I use when hunting,
The Live control bar is setup to give access to controls that I may want to change to such as the Search Audio Modes, Search Display, Analysis Display and the Pinpoint Display. Then the others like Ground Tracking, Sensitivity, Frequency, Discrimination and Programs to name a few are there for quick on the fly adjustments.
This is the basic program that I have used for my type of hunting here in Oregon as I mainly do coin and Jewelry hunting and then once in awhile relics. But I usually end up digging most everything but iron in my general hunting areas.
