Hi new to site

I have been detecting for a few years now, mostly durring the warmer months, I found the item below in my back yard and would like some info on what it might be and what it could be from, on the front of it it says "mines and mining building", also any idea what the item in the last 2 photos is?

Hay Boojagirl,

Welcome to the forum. You have come to the right place.:)

Great find.

I don't know what it is. Can not see all of it. What is it attached to? More pics please.

I can tell you that's memorabilia form the 1893 Chicago Worlds Fair. If it's in descent shape, it's worth something. I mean $$. Not a windfall, but just an original photo from the era would probably bring $35 or more on eBay. Some things are worth considerably more.

Here's a link to a description of the Mines and Mining Building.

Don't know what the other object is either. Sorry:shrug:

Hope that helps,

The thing in the first 4 photos is all I found, I have no idea what it was attatched to, like if it was the top of something or what, you can see in the 4th photo that the frame thing opens up so whatever it was you could open the lid then slide whatever it was open a little wider, I think.

I don't know. It's very interisting though. It's probably 110 years old.

May be some one els will have an idea.

HH,

Tabdog

I have been trying to find info on the item in the first 4 photos forever, I am not sure what to look under though, I have tried searching 1893 chicago worlds fair, mines and mining building, souviners, memorabilia but I can't find this particular item, any ideas on what to type into the search engine? I sure would like to find out what it is and why I found it in my back yard in central Minnesota

Try posting your picks in the Whatzit Forum, they have a high success rate for identification. Welcome to the finds forums.

Great stuff. I can be of no assistance on the whatzit, but I like those other items, and kudos to tabdog for the ID on them.

I wish I had a backyard like yours.
