Hi treasure hunters. I just purchased a Garret Sea Hunter Mark II and used it at the beach today for the first time. Nothing but nails and wire at Hampton Beach around 11am. Was out there for about 2 hours when my sand scoop broke. It was a piece of crap. Does anybody have an idea of where and what to buy for digging in the surf?

A TH'ing buddy of mine just got one of these off EBay. It's heavy, it's tough and I don't think anybody but GH could break it and even then it would take a while:lol:.
Here's the pics, you decide.

You need a good strong stainless scoop. We have the new Beachcomber Scoop.

Well the final version of the beach scoop that I have been working on for quite awhile is finally done. Joe DeMarco of DeMarco Detector Sales (a FindMall Sponsor) will be producing and selling the scoops. Here are some pix of the final version of the scoop.

The Scoop is Stainless Steel and is 12.5" long and 6" in diameter.

There is a footpad on the back to both strengthen the scoop and protect the rear mesh. The mesh is 1/2" square.

The rear footpad is placed in line with the mesh so as not to block the flow of sand through the scoop.

The scoop's handle is 48" long and is 1.25" Stainless Steel. The scoop is a bit on the heavy side weighing in at roughly 6.5lbs.
