This is the first Connecticut Copper I have ever found... didn't know what it was when I recovered it
...had to ask assistance ID'ing it.
I found it at an old beach ( love to detect old beaches) ...about 8-10 " down in dry sand. I almost gave up on digging it...good thing I persisted.
I usually just find "Mercs", "Buffs", and once in a while Barber dimes & Barber half-dollars , Seated Liberties at these old beaches.
Salt water does a job on these beautiful coins....they are always quite "pitted" but this coin is in pretty good condtion...I don't think it has seen much salt.
I believe it's a 1786 Connecticut Copper, Mailed Bust Facing Left..this is according to my 59th Edition Red Book United States Coins page 58.
Here's some pics
Thanks for looking
