Hi Gabe! I have one for you...

Happy New Year by the way!
Nice winter we were having until all this snow messed it up!
I was out Saturday near a 1812 site and found this bullet.
I know it's not 1812 old, figure around 1860's. It has 4 rings and hollow point. Probably an easy one for you, but I can't find anything on it.
Am guessing early British carbine, maybe Enfield. It is a little flat on one sid, but looks like it used to measure about 1/2" diameter and is about 1" long.
Thanks for the help.
MM

Hello marcus!

Some weather, huh? Nice to see you've been digging too.

Is that a hollow point I see? Has that bullet been pulled?

A link talking about "lub groove" enfields":

Yes it is a hollow point, but it doesn't look pulled. It is flat on one side - I found it near the rock ledge by the river and am assuming it struck it's side on the rocks.
That one picture does look like my bullet, but then does it mean it is modern? I checked the link and seems like modern bullets. Oh well. Spring is coming!
Thanks
MM
