I own a Discovery 3300 by Bounty Hunter. My biggest find so far is a 10 carat gold wedding band. I have also found numerous coins and misc.

Hi gloria:

Welcome to the hobby and this fine group...I would say you are doing great for a beginner...I have been at this hobby now since spring of 2005 and I have yet to find any jewelry...
WTG...

rennie....Living in Texas, I cannot believe you have not found anything good yet...Perhaps you need to move away from the heavily visited areas where people litter...find spots that gather people, but discourage drinking...I would suggest beaches if any, schools, churchyards (with permission), athletic fields, any plowed field that now covers a site with history...and any fairgrounds you might have nearby.

Hi Gloria, I just got my BH QD II last Friday and have only found a musket ball and a penny (1972) and a bunch of cans that were buried on the beach.

I did run into one guy who said that the beaches are kind of slow this time of year (Virginia) as the stuff that was lost last summer has pretty much been picked clean by the older more experienced hunters.

I am moving to some very old home sites on some property I hunt here in VA.

Good luck and keep us posted. Congrats on your nice find.
