Hi Cody I have been playing around with ferrous sounds as well as audio 1. I'm feeling like this may be a good combo for hunting those cellar holes and iron infested areas. Last week I hunted in ferrous. This week I want to include audio 1 into the mix. Anyway, below is a post you made on surface blanking:

HOW TO BLANK SURFACE TARGETS STILL DETECT DEEP ONES

At site we are going to hunt decrease the sensitivity in Manual down to about 3 or 4. The level depends on how deep you want the surface blanking so you will need to try different low sensitivity setting depending an the coil you are using. With the Sensitivity at around 4 go to Learn and clear the screen. Select reject with an active X and sweep the coil over a sampling of the area where there is heavy trash. Learn all targets for rejection. I like to go to Edit and clear up any rejection in the silver area for shallow silver but this is not necessary. Go to detection and increase the Sensitivity up as high as it will go with stable operation. Guess what? We now blank targets from the surface down several inches but will detect deep targets just fine. This really works nicely in heavy trash to peep through the trash and go after deeper coins. Most trash but iron is in the surface to 4 or 5 inch range we we kill all that.

I tried it out in my workshop (not the best but it has been raining out) I did as you suggested but set sensitivity to 2. I used a nickel, small iron and a pull tab. Now, I have the upper left blanked out almost where fe coins would be blanked out as well as nickels and this certain pull tab.
I then increased the sensitivity to a stable state. I'm using ferrous and audio 1. If I pass any of the objects within 1" to 10" it still nulls based on the blanked out area just as if surface blanking was not setup. I'm not sure I see where the surface blanking part comes into play.
Is it supposed to work such that I would null on any of the above items only within the first 2" and then respond to them if deeper than 2"? Do you know what I am missing or not understanding about this setup? Any ideas are will be well received. Thanks,
Ed-
