hi everybody, i'm new to this forum and the etrac....would like to thank damar2003 for leading me here to your website....only had my etrac for 4 days so far and i've gotta say that so far i'm not impressed with it as much as i would like to be, but there again i'm still a newbie with it as well....i'm jumping to it from an at pro and in 3 months time with the pro i've got 13 silvers under my belt and a ton of clad!!! (230.00 bucks since christmas)... i know what the at pro is telling me when i hunt with it, believe me!!!! as for the etrac, i'm finding clad with it but i'm just not sure about anything with as of yet....since saturday i've hunted about 10 hours with it, dug probably 6 bucks or so in clad, and 3 wheaties....oh, and i did pull a silver-plated spoon today....lol.... with all the hype i guess i was expecting to have 4 or 5 silver coins by now.....lol ... one can dream..... tried it in ttf for about an hour today, and that didnt go at all like i had hoped....how do you hunt in that mode and not get tired of the iron and digging junk!!!! i didnt dig one single coin in that mode but i did get the spoon.... ugh.....depressed....got andy's book ordered but havent gotten it yet....i'm sure i'll read it front to back 3 times when i get it but i sure hope this gets better....my plan is,( and this because i hunt alot) to give it a full 3 months like i did my pro, if i ain't turning out coins like i do with the pro by then,it's gonna get sold!!!

What type of areas are you hunting? What was the depth of the wheaties you found. If you're digging "junk" (ie. pulltabs, can slaw, etc) in TTF then you're most likely using it in a park. The only place I use TTF is at a spot I'm likely to dig "every" non-ferrous target or if your nulled out due to iron in a certain area. Keep at it, I'm still learning as well going on 400+ hours.

You're best move was Andy's book. I believe your on the right track by setting aside a good deal of time to learn the machine. Keep it up. Youtube was where I learned the most (OhioCoinHunter, Vidslayer, and others). Try and find the FULL digs where you hear the sound before and then get to see what's up. I've gotten many thanks from people on my "Falsing" video, and I try and do a lot of FULL digs.

If you're pulling out wheaties, wait until you hear that silver sound. Play with your Threshold Pitch setting (using air test) until you get the silver sound you like and THEN....wait until you hear it in the ground.

Hi and welcome. You are headed in the right direction with Andy's book. Read as much as you can, watch vids, ask questions, and get to know your machine. Set up a practice garden with some of the finds you have to get your ears in tune with the different sounds and the FE/CO readings. You could even mix in some trash/iron to get a feel for how the E-Trac responds to those conditions. See if you can hook up and go on a hunt with someone local that has experience with the E-Trac that could give you some firsthand pointers. I'm sure you will love your E-Trac and will not be able to put it down once everything starts to click. I do not know anyone that did not like their E-Trac. You hardly ever see them for sale or trade, what does that tell you.

I'm a newbie as well...bought my E-trac last December, but really have only been able to use it the past month and a half. After ~50 hours of hunting, I am now over 25 silvers! Not too shabby...keep us informed!

First, congrats on the Trac. Next the Pro is a four tone detector and if you have been using the Pro for any time now, you are used to 4 tone. Put the Trac into 4 tone, That will help you a lot. Now, sounds like you like the turn on and go ? Well, yes get Andy's Book; but don't think that your going to be able, to understand all about the Trac in just 1 sitting, just not going to happen. You got to work with the trac and get it the way you like it. Will it preform the way you want it too? Yes.... Will the Pro work for you? Yes.... But can the Pro give you an ID down to the 12 inch mark, in my soil (Georgia), if it will even hear it. NO..... Good Luck and Happy hunting, Also, not trying to start a war of words about the Pro here either.

Ken... I live in georgia as well... I live real close to the tennessee line in rossville....to your point, thats why i got the etrac, to hear the deeper sounds and get it id'ed... I have got deep tones with the pro but couldnt id them....was gettin tired of chasin signals not knowing what they were....

The Etrac and ATPro are two completely different machines. The Etrac also has a bigger learning curve and will require more time to learn.
Both are excellent machines and both will be only as good as the time you put into them.
