Hf coils

I have a question, and before I ask I’ve read and googled it,found some answers but most were old and not a very detailed answer at that...I find nickels with my Mf Coil,Somtimes they bounce,Somtimes only a few inches deep and a solid 12...For anyone that park or yard hunts, and uses a hf coil,,,do your nickels lock on a12,, at lets say 6 inches,,?

My buried Jeff nickel ( somewhat modern...I think 1980-90) buried at 5-6 inches locks on at 12. Most all other nickels I test when the coil is 5-6 inches above them lock on at 12. That is swinging the coil from multiple angles.

Pull tabs bounce around 12 to 14 at that height. They may lock on at 12 swinging from one direction but when you start hitting the target from different directions it bounces around between 12-14. Nickles at that range don't.

Reason I know this is I just tested this 2 days ago. So it's still fresh in my old brain.
