Hey what kind of changes would you guys recommend for the T2

Certian changes that some are calling for worries me. Does the T2 still have a coil problem for one?
Unstable coils were a problem in the past but I thought Teknetics worked all that out?
I heard one person call it just another Bounty Hunter the other day!. Hey...That's not all bad. But I do share concerns when it comes to talk about software Revs. Really I believe that Teknectics should get their butts in here and give some details and forcasts on the T2. I'd really hate to see sales slow and the detector suffer due to consumer doubt.

Hey...don't get me wrong the T2 is just beginning to speak to me and I've had it about a month. I haven't noticed unstable coil response, or chatter, but I may have better ground than the ones who have complained!

I've enjoyed my Teknetic T2 ..I think it's a dynamite machine, the depth is unreal and it hunts side by side with the GTI 2500 no problems.

Hey... Come on Teknetics...let's get that website up and customer support questions answered. I know we can call Dave and he'll personally talk to us. But we really need a public response on questions concerning the Chattering Coils, The question of a smaller coil for the T2.... And a variety of other T2 questions that could solve doubts that were raised but also help undecided detectorists come to Teknetics....

I feel it's a serious machine...Garrett's GTI 2500 is a fine machine for everyone who has ever took the time to learn it...and heaven knows... it does take time! The T2 has become just as serious and a treasured detector for me, and I've learned it in 1/2 the time of the Garrett. Not only that but... It measures up ! It has high standards, but they have to be learned. You won;t get it over night, but be patient...you will get it!

Okay Teknetics I've done all I can do...It's your turn!

Mine's on its way back to Tek so Dave can hack the coil apart and see why it has an intermittent.

A few of us have reported interference at certain sites, I'm one. It was bad enough for some they sold before finding the reason or a cure. I'll have to retest for this once mine's returned. If it's still there, I'm going to try to nail down the specific cause.

I've already noted in previous posts what else I'd change. Not much, really. Stronger battery springs, a couple times when setting it down, it cycled, losing my settings. Relocate the the hard-to-hear downward-firing speaker and maybe the volume knob with it. I think I still prefer nickle signals to be a low tone, I guess because that's what I'm used to on my Time Ranger.

An option to save the last settings might be nice. I learned it was easier to leave it on while digging than to turn it off, then reset it to where I had it, since I usually forgot some specific setting or other.

With a smaller coil to sneak into rock crevices better, this unit could be a real nugget shooter.

Hey KCK

Me thinks your trying to read into something that isn't there. Coil troubles ??? Dam, all company's experience coil troubles at one time or another. As a dealer, I have had bad coils right out of the box with them all. I don't see anything different here.

What chattering coils on the T-2 ?? I have sold a real lot of these units, and I haven't been informed of any coil problems from my customers. If your referring to mention of pre-release units that came out 4/5 months ago, that's a different thing, they are not what we have now. This doesn't mean that someone won't have coil trouble. I just read a post this morning here that there sending their unit back to have the coil looked at.

Software revisions: It's just talk. Company's are always trying out different arrangements sending test units out to the field. I think this is where your interjecting your concerns, reading something like this.

Don't hold your breath waiting for Tek. to get in here to voice any information. It's not going to happen, even on a forum they set up. I can't think of any factory forum that the factory answers, and keeps users abreast of the tech. things, and they certainly wouldn't talk about problems or prototype items. You must think the engineers have all this free time to hang around forum to answer questions ??

Do you get the same from Garrett, Whites, Minelab, Fisher, or even Tesoro ?? Tesoro has multi run factory web pages, but very rarely gets involved by posting.

Let's put this stuff to rest, and go out detecting. The factory has been getting the message out for years with out posting. They try to follow some protocol by informing the distributors, who inform the dealers, who in turn pass it on customers.:) :bounty:

Ed, I NEVER turn my unit off while detecting from start to finish it is on. Believe I get more battery life doing it that way. The only time I turn my unit off to dig is after I finish tagging all hits with Popsicle stick marking them with the depth and TID.:) The reason I really do it is to give my arm a break. I swing for an hour, then dig.;) Swing another hour, then dig again, and so it goes. The popsicle thing really speeds up the hunt too. ;)
