I spoke with Brad @ Garrett yesterday
The GTI1500 has 5 months of warranty left
He said if i sent it in they would ck it
recalibrate if needed,and ck for upgrades.

Is this worth it? Im not sure what
upgrades means ... last time i used it
in Dec it was of course more accurate
than I was... but if i can get it to perform
better then it may be worth it ..
Ill have the ACE in case we get a thaw soon..
Opiion please and thanks in advance ..
Other opinions are of course welcome too

The upgrade would probably be the chip upgrade, which gives the GTI better stability in higher mineralized soil. They might also just see if it needs some tuning. I had the chip upgrade, but it made no difference with me as my soil has little mineralization.

I sent mine in a few years ago, and I swear I've got a little more depth. Can't prove it but I believe so.

The upgrade is probably the installation of the mineral chip that makes it perform better in mineralized ground. If you don't have that problem in your area it may not need it. I think they charge about 40 bucks for the chip.
