Hey Skully............... What do you do to clean up your gold?

If it's gold most of the time you don't have to do anything but polish it!!!

.333 or 8K and 10K if its been in the ground along time...use Electrolysis to clean them...then just use a good silver - gold polish

Here is a link

If you have a ring sizer ...it helps to hold the ring in place while you Polish it...You can apply alot of pressure without damaging the ring..

Surprisingly, even gold (especially the lower 'karatage') can be blackened (sulfur compounds) if it's spent a lot of time in certain saltwater muds, or other acidic soils that have a lot of organic matter in them.
My first step then, is electrolysis. If some darkness remains, then it's a thorough wiping with Nevr-Dull patches. My final prep is always buffing with a jeweler's cloth. Since I got such a cloth (paid 5 bucks for it), my silver and gold gleams.
Most times, the last step is all I need.
