I'm not kidding. Earlier this week, Jane and I traveled to NE Thailand to visit old friends, and they took us out to lunch. Had a fabulous baked fish, a really spicey (read very hot chili) soup, a green papaya salad, and barbequed bugs!
Not spiders, but bees, grasshoppers, beetles, mayflies, crickets and other assorted 6 legged critters.
Because they were expensive, and not wanting to offend, we scoffed those little suckers up. I ate a couple dozen, hey, not too bad with a little peanut sauce dip.
Looking back, I should have taken some pictures, but there were a lot of people, and I didn't want to look like a dumb tourist. You'll just have to take my word for it.
