I am going to get into the on-site printing business this week. I am going to get a Kodak 1400 to start off with because it is a little cheaper and it gives me more print size options. Then if sales from this weeks tournament show enough promise I will get a Kodak 8500 too. How have you liked your 8500 so far? I've read that they're a work horse but that they're limited to only doing 8x10 photos.

Nimrod,
We have 2 of them and event imaging software that drives the whole show. When one printer is busy it rolls to next printer. The prints are FABULOUS!
But the machine will only print 8x10's which for events is ideal.
We will know how the whole system performs after this coming weekend. We are setting up shop at a USTA event here in Northern Virginia with the potential of printing 2000+ 5x7's onsite. <img src="/metal/html/grin.gif" border=0 width=15 height=15 alt=":grin">

The 1400 isn't available yet so I bought an 8500 instead. It's supposed to be here Friday and the event is 9am Saturday morning. Plenty of time to learn all about it, eh? <img src="/metal/html/wink.gif" border=0 width=15 height=15 alt=";)">
