Yesterday, I hunted that first field on the right after driving past the new church. The one everyone was hunting in the first and second day. I'm pretty sure the club that sponsored the hunt hit it hard the first day, then when we got there Friday, about twenty people were in it all day.
We slept in, and got there about 11:00 Saturday. There were still eight or ten people in it, so I unlimbered the Gold and started working some of the high grass areas where I figured some might have stayed away from. It was very heavy in iron, and the low tones were like a staccato constant beep in my headphones.
After digging some brass rifle shells, out pops a 1905 V Nickel.
Imagine that.
