i take it your from PA? if so where do u hunt alot at to find all those coins? i have a pretty good idea how 2 use the quattro and ive done more research in this life time for 10 ppl, im obsessed. anyways i get out alot w/ the met det and in the last 3 or 4 years all ive ever found was an 1840 dime and a 1902 indian head penny, bunch of bullets and other "stuff". im just wandering what the heck im doing wrong here. i read all over the place about ppl finding coins just about every time they go out. im always hitting ghost towns and turn up nothing, although some of it is kinda cool nothing, lol. or maybe i just need to get a boat ticket because i keep missing the boat, lol. anyways any help would be great. btw if u are from PA i am also, if not then im in the USA. if not then im on the earth, that should narrow it down. LOL thanx

Where in PA, I'm in State College, Would really like to get together with someone who has a Quattro. Scott

I'm from the Cleveland Ohio area. I don't frequent this forum too much since I sold my Quattro. I now have an Explorer. There are things I miss about the Quattro but overall the Explorer is a little more versatile and allows me to dig less junk if I choose.

That 1840 dime is a sweet find. We don't find many seated dimes out here.

The best places I have found to consistently find old coins(silver, wheats, IH's, old nickels, etc) is older parks and schools. As long as I am finding wheat pennies I keep at it. Any place I find an older coin I concentrate on that area heavily then branch out to new areas of the property.

The old properties in the woods where old homes use to be - not always consistent producers. Great for finding whatzits and such but not always good for coins. Either the site is too overgrown, filled with trash or it has been dozed. I have had success at a couple and maybe I just don't have that much experience hunting cellar holes.

Hope this helps.
