Hey Mike

I talked to the dealer of the CZ20 and they want $750.00. It is in mint condition. What do you think, What does it sound like and overall is it as good as they say it is? Much obliged, Randy.

I answered your PM. It is a great machine, most water hunters love it!
Ask how old it is, because some of those mint machines are old just not used much. Also check out references. I would not like to see you get stung!

Good morning gentlemen,, my name is clarence bertram, bemidji, mn. Just started in may of this year, and have learned enough to realize how much I don't know. I would appreiciate your help on some cz20 decisions. There is areal nice condition used one in town for 425.00. Is there any way this machine could double as a land/water machine? It has no visual depth provisions, and no visual id provisions. Does it have tone id? In the cz class. which one does it campare with?. I am using a gtax 1000, would the cz20 be an upgrade for land use? Should I just forget about a dual purpose machine? Any other info would be very much appreiciated. thank you very much clarence jr. bertram psm 126:3

First let me say welcome and glad to have ya here with us!
The Fisher CZ-20 is probably the top rated water machine out there.
It can be used underwater and on land. It is a deep seeking machine with tone ID (High-coins, Mid-gold, low-iron) At $425 it is probably a steal! They were $1000 new! If it is in great shape, and you trust the sellers I would grab it at that price. If you don't plan to go water detecting ever you praobaly don't need it? Many guys who use a machine with depth and ID never want to be without them. When water detecting you don't need either because you should dig most everything with the exception of iron maybe. I hope this helps! If you need anymore help just hollar! :)

God bless!

Mike

Good morning, again, Mike, thank you for your reply, another begginner question, is there any way the cz20 could be used effectively on land? Is the only visual and depth id's as many machines also have neither? How about the always in the salt mode, can the discrimination be adjusted tobe usuable? thank you very much, see ya, here there or in the air! jr

it will hunt on land just fine! It does not have ID, or depth on that machine. Just 3 tones. Not many places will sell a CZ-20 for that cheap of a price. Be sure of the age and how well it works. Maybe they will give you a short warrenty? If you don't go that route, I know a Christian dealer that will answer all your questions, help you decide what machine is right for you, and he does carry some used units too!

like. I paid 800 for the last one I got and it was a demo. It is as good as they say plus its simple to learn. CZ20 was designed for salt water use. You didn't mention the coil size. Mine is the larger coil as I like to cover as much area as I can and you get a little more depth also. Now you will also be able to hunt land under damp and rainy conditions without worry. Some say you can't get any small gold with the 20. Steve and Mike in Mi have both seen many of my finds and there are some small ones. Good luck if you get it.

Good morning, Mike, thank you and all others very much. The coil is the smaller one, 10" I believe. Just entered this wonderful hobby in may of this year and and really enjoy it.Also as a rookie. you'll probabbly have to put up with more questions. thank you very much, Icor.2:9 jr

Good morning, Betty, thank you very much for the warm welcome, tried to move to missouri, but our Lord had different plans. Thank you again. james 1:5 jr

It sure looks like a winner. I,m going to try and find one that is new and still in the box. I'm not sure if the warrantee would be good because I heard that the company changed hands. Thanks again for the info. You guy's are great!

Good afternoon Betty, He said, stay where you are, we are and grew up in bemidji, mn. It's a town of 12,000 about 120 miles from the candian border, colder than you in the winter, not as hot in the summer, and for sure jusT AS MANY MESQUETOS. hebw.4;16 jr

425 is a steal if that thing is in good shape. Check the Fisher Factory website and you can probably get the specs on the machine. Has 3 tone ID. Low for iron, mid-tone where gold, aluminum foil, pull tabs and such come up, and high tone for coins including silver items show up. Hope there is a manual with it. If not try the factory for one and if they can't get you one I might be able to help with one. If all else fails I could even loan you mine if I can find it. It is a top of the line machine go to 250ft below. Good luck.
