.....Looking to do some beach hunting along lake Michigan over the next 2 months. Jane and I are visiting friends and family in Allegan, and we expect to hunt from Holland State Park, North.
Any special laws and rules for beach hunting? Is there an MD club near Holland that we can visit? Any Michigan beach hunters that can give us some help, tips, and advice? We would appreciate it.

Good Luck and Good Hunting!

if you go to this website http://swmss.org they have a link to a list of state parks that you can and can't hunt.
i have never hunted holland state park but i've been told by a very reliable source that there is a lot of interferance.
the link is for the local club we meet the third tuesday of the month
in plainwell and would love to have you join us there is a map on the webb site.
if you're coming soon i would suggest a wet suit. it takes some time for the lake to warm up and if the wind is out of the east for more than a day the water will be frigid!
here is site showing the current water temp. today the water is a balmy 35 degrees at holland state park

here is another site that forecasts wave height.

pick the grandrapids report.
i have hunted in 4 ft. waves but wouldn't recogmend it!!!
anything above 2 ft. will knock you around!!!
hope this helps, hope you have a great time and find lots of loot!
if your here and have a chance to attend our club meeting we sure would like to see you.

.... Jane is from Holland, and she is familiar with the beach areas that are huntable, as shown on the park map. We will try to make it to the swmss club meeting, and again, thanks alot for your help.
