Hey Max...

Finally... I'm doing the coil this weekend. Plenty of time to cure before the negative tides at the end of the month

Have worked with epoxy before on some saltwater flies I've made (and I was working with 5 minute), but any words of wisdom? (other than making sure the surface is clean and "roughed up" a bit? ).

Yeah, it'll need 2 coats. There's not a heck of a lot of it in the package anyway. The mix is a lot thicker than I thought it would be... I used some blue painter's tape to get a clean looking edge and a putty knife to apply it; worked pretty well. Not unlike putting icing on a cake :) Tomorrow, I'll sand it down a little and give it a 2nd coat.

I won't hit the beach this weekend but I may be able to get a little dirt diggin' in on Saturday afternoon (if I get the Christmas shopping done early enough) :( Supposed to be close to 50 here. If I get a chance, I'll try to hit the beach on Monday (maybe Santa's bringing me that Platypus I asked for?) .

Merry Christmas!
