I found a 14K ring today that was 14k @ 19.5 gr, My question is this . I received 300.00 us gold is @ almost 1800.00 an oz. Am I getting ripped off? When I do the math they are taking over 50 % for doing nothing. I know that I have to take a hit... In times like these why does everybody have to have a piece of the action for doing nothing. You still make alot of money doing nothing but I make m0ney out of no where and I give back any way I can. Is this is are society in action. I got aritated taking 40 cents on the dollar. Am I wrong?

no your not wrong..and yes you got ripped, but what the hell, some people are good at making money, and some are good at taking money...some are good at finding money, and some are good at minding money...find a new place to take your gold and silver...by dang, even at the nearest bar you got of got more for a ring that big...good luck.

That ring was worth 656.15 cents take away 2% and you have 643.15 cents ARA would have paid you for it . You can do the math here.

You got SUPER ripped off!!! I'm guessing to dealt with someone local?!?! I know that online rates vary but don't know of any that rob you like that. Local pawn shops and "We buy gold" stores are a joke...never deal with them!! I would love to stand outside these places and tell people go get an offer and then come see me!

You really have to watch who you deal with. There is a local guy that people recommended to me to sell to. I am a gold prospector and had a half ounce burning a hole in my pocket. Gold was just $1200 an ounce at the time. I took my gold in his store and he weighs it out, does figuring on his calculator and says "I can give you $200 for it". I laughed in his face and told him he was crazy. He gives a spill about him taking a risk buying placer gold and that $200 was good. When I grabbed it up and said I would just keep it, he done some refiguring and says "I can give you $275 but that's it. I kept walking.

I told a watch repair guy that I go to church with and he told me his gold buyer would be coming that week to buy his scrap and that he would see how much he would give me. I let him take my gold and he called me up later that week...the gold guy said he'd give me $685 for it...said placer gold was worth more than scrap gold. So that's who I sell to now. I wish I'd of held onto mine. If I only knew it would be $1800 an ounce.
