was out hunting last weekend and thought I got a good find...It's a canadian penny but at first I thought it was a 1867 and I thought WOW cool!!!! then I cleaned it off more and saw it was a centenial penny 1867-1967 has the queen on the front and a bird (Albatross maybe??) or how ever ya spell it lol on the back. You find many of those around up there or are they alittle scarce? Either way it is still a neat find. So I tucked it away with my wheaties.

Hi Steve....good to hear from you. That 1867-1967 was a commemorative issue for Canada's 100th birthday. That bird is a Rock Dove, but in laymans term is a pigeon. Although there were lots minted that year, most were hoarded, so it is a good find. They are worth more then a penny if they are in almost uncirculated condition. They also make a cool baby coin ring, as the date is close to the rim.
