..No new motorcycle for dogface Steve, but a new guitar...A Guild D-55 Acoustic guitar-top of the line...Sunburst;of course...abalone trim inlay around the sound hole, and on the fretboard...lifetime warranty...Retails for almost$3,000.00;got it for a hair over 2,000-saving almost 1/3-never had a top of the line musical instrument;but in this area,ya get what ya pay for...A guy at work seen a picture of this guitar, and said:"I bought one JUST like it for my daughter for a couple hundred dollars-whys this one so special??"If people are not familiar with musical instruments;and they subscribe to the "one size fits all"category;they wont understand -a beginner musical instrument is fine for a beginner-But;if I dont know how to play ;a C.F.Martin D-45 Acoustic(my fantasy guitar-retails at around$9,000.00)is not gonna sound any better in my hands than a beginner guitar...my wife told me"well,a new guitar isnt gonna kill you, like a motorcycle could"...True-but:spending this much on a guitar is new territory for me-the payments might induce some tears,though..:cool:

Make it sound sweet for God!

having the talent to play such a guitar makes a difference. Do you remember a song some time back about an auction of a violin and the auctioneer wasn't getting much of an offer for it then someone that could play it picked it up and played it and then the prices offered went from mere dollars to hundreds of dollars. When asked why the difference in prices the answer was the 'touch of the Masters hands'.

I have a new instrument, a QChord, and I'm not great being a beginner but there is so much it can do - and will - once I get the practice to become a master of it. Haven't had much time to practice lately but have asked God to give me the gift to use it for His glory and praise.

Who knows maybe one day we can jam together but don't think it will happen over night.

Congrats on the guitar - it will be much warmer to use this winter too than a motorcycle :)

...see if i can get the old digital camera working...The guy that installed the new norton in my hard drive told me the reason the camera wouldnt work on my computer is that the drivers werent installed, and he did it...I should have that new guitar by Friday;I will see maybe this weekend if I can hook you up with a pic...

When I bought my Taylor 13 years ago, the thought of spending 2K on a guitar made me uneasy. However, what I thought might be a mismanagement of God's money really wasn't. That guitar has spread the Gospel in many different locations and helps to lead people in worship almost every Sunday. It's also helped me write a lot of songs that have blessed people over the years. I'd say it was well worth it :)

Have fun with it!

I hope it sounds as good as it looks. It reminds me of my old Gibson J45
