Got back from mexico late last night. The flight was delayed because of another stow storm in Edmonton, which closed down our international airport. Don't get me wrong....the holiday was fantastic! I got burned to a crisp, the water was great, the food was great. Both my wife and I were ready to phone home to tell our kids that the house in Edmonton was their's.....we are staying/starting a new life in Mexico.

Here are the coins I dug.....about 6 hours worth of hunts. I only brought down the AT Pro with the 9" x 12" concentric coil. It worked well in the dry sand, had to be reground balanced in the wet sand and would not work in the constant churning of the wave activity in the water. If I head back next year, I am bringing the Infinium along also to hunt the water.

Although I did not get any rings, I did get this tiny heart with glass stones and a dog tag from Toronto. It was a great week, too short as are all holidays and I am waiting for our final melt which should open up most green areas and start to open up some water hunting spots.

Hey! Glad you had a great time and actually got to go hunting a little!:clapping: So give us a little report on how the Pro handled the salt? No good? Tried everything to get 'er to settle down with no success?

Looks like a fun trip! Never detected in Mexico...talk about weather contrast...:look:

Glad you had a safe and happy vacation, John. I used to want to go to Mexico when I was younger, but all the violence on tourists got to me. Glad you got to do some dirt fishing while you were there and found some good coins and the jewelry. The native lady looks colorful in her traditional outfit and that looks like some good eating on that plate. The snow will be melting pretty soon in your area, I hope. I hope in the next week or two it will be warm enough to get in the water without chest waders, because they do limit how far out in the water I can go. HH.

Looks like you had a good time....I bet those big coins really sung a sweet tune on that AT Pro!

Hi John,
Just curious as to how you transported your MD? I'm in Florida for a month and brought my ATP along. I took the control head off, wrapped it in bubble wrap and put it in my carry-on bag. Never had one enquiry from the TSA geniuses, but wonder if I got lucky. BTW, I packed the shaft and other parts in the checked bag. Always wondering what's the best way to fly with a MD, but I'm driving if at all possible.

So far, my experience on the sand & in the surf, is about like yours. I'm new with the machine so just beginning the learning curve but gonna love this Machine!. Oh, I found a penny yesterday on my first outing.

Regards,

Keith
