Hey hey...A new soccer complex to hunt and I think it's going to be a great one!

Can't believe I never noticed this site before.
It is at the extreme end of a large park I have been to a lot in the past, I finally found it flying over the whole park using Bing maps.
First hunt was rain shortened so only 1.5 hours spent here but still managed to find a small silver ring and a bunch of high tone clad...not to mention the nickels. (First 2 pics)

Yesterday about 3.5 hours and a little more careful swinging and silver again, (a small part of a silver earring), and a huge amount of coins.
Gotta be virgin, look at the quarters dimes and nickel amounts and the cents were mostly copper.
To many other better targets to dig at this site right now, I will dig the zincoln signals sometime in the future after I drain this place of the good stuff which should take awhile.
All this from around just a couple of the sidelines and not the entire perimeters, either.
There are close to 20 full size fields here so I am planning on spending most of my weekday hunting time here for the next few weeks.
Just me and the park crew here during the week and they are a nice bunch of guys and have no issues with me as long as I stay off the fields during season.
The real target is gold but I will be thrilled with all the silver I can find and the clad amounts are outrageous so this is gonna be fun.
Unbelievably there is very little trash here, no pop tops, very little foil or can slaw and the only thing I have to deal with are some sta tabs.
They come in slightly higher than the nickels so I can tell what they are but I am looking for gold so all the solid ones are being dug.
Otherwise just about every target here is a good one so far...the bulk of them, anyway.
A dream site...it is important that I find some gold soon so that is entirely possible at a place like this.
Stay tuned...much more to come!

Before I read your post, I thought you had a Plat ring there!!! Nice silver ring and a great collection of coins:thumbup: It sounds like you have a goldmine of a spot to detect and there is sure to be gold hiding there!!

Now what was the address of that soccer complex and park? I am just joking. Looks like you found a sweet spot. Those Virgin sites are a nice surprise. I hope you find your gold soon. Nice silver pieces and clad haul. Please let us know what else you find. HH.

Yeah buddy! Good showing that says a lot about that place...those big sport complexes are a matter of timing to hit when everything is just right...scope it out when the action is in full swing to see the travel patterns easily, kinds of vehicles, the 'richness' of the crowd so to speak,...

Walk around and see what kind of bling is being worn even...they will just think you are another parent, no one will suspect you are a hovering metal vulture, you may have to put a folded up paper towel in your mouth to contain your drooling!:clapping:

If I was just excited about digging clad I would have to wear Depends at this site.
Gold and silver is the goal and from what I can see so far some drooling can be expected in the future.
I have hit a total of about 14 sidelines and a little of the grassy areas in front of the parking lot to capture all of this so far...and I wasn't really gridding so there is probably still more in these areas I missed.
There are 18 fields here.
18x4 equals 72 sidelines to hit plus some other extra walking around areas.
I am averaging about a buck a sideline in clad, once I get serious that amount might be a bit higher.
By the time I am done I might gather up somewhere between 75-$100 or more in clad from this place.
Digging mostly coins instead of trash while I am waiting on the gold and silver to show up is the best thing about this site.
I don't think I have ever been to a site with so much clad and so little trash before.
I have dug tons of coins at a few other places but I had to deal with much more trash like pop tops, tabs and can slaw galore.
This place just seems to have mostly sta tabs and 80% of those come in wonky so after digging a few signals like that I suspect most of the rest of them will be trash, also.
The solid ones I will dig because that is how gold always came in for me in the past and since nothing is deep here I assume that will be the case here also if and when I swing over some.
A dream site as I said, gonna have a good time here for the foreseeable future.
