Can't believe I never noticed this site before.
It is at the extreme end of a large park I have been to a lot in the past, I finally found it flying over the whole park using Bing maps.
First hunt was rain shortened so only 1.5 hours spent here but still managed to find a small silver ring and a bunch of high tone clad...not to mention the nickels. (First 2 pics)
Yesterday about 3.5 hours and a little more careful swinging and silver again, (a small part of a silver earring), and a huge amount of coins.
Gotta be virgin, look at the quarters dimes and nickel amounts and the cents were mostly copper.
To many other better targets to dig at this site right now, I will dig the zincoln signals sometime in the future after I drain this place of the good stuff which should take awhile.
All this from around just a couple of the sidelines and not the entire perimeters, either.
There are close to 20 full size fields here so I am planning on spending most of my weekday hunting time here for the next few weeks.
Just me and the park crew here during the week and they are a nice bunch of guys and have no issues with me as long as I stay off the fields during season.
The real target is gold but I will be thrilled with all the silver I can find and the clad amounts are outrageous so this is gonna be fun.
Unbelievably there is very little trash here, no pop tops, very little foil or can slaw and the only thing I have to deal with are some sta tabs.
They come in slightly higher than the nickels so I can tell what they are but I am looking for gold so all the solid ones are being dug.
Otherwise just about every target here is a good one so far...the bulk of them, anyway.
A dream site...it is important that I find some gold soon so that is entirely possible at a place like this.
Stay tuned...much more to come!
