Hey Guys, how big is the transition going from an ExII to an e-trac???

any specific things to know making the switch? I'm guessing the weights are similar, but is it any better balanced by chance?

Thanks for any feedback.

The Etrac rocks.... but it is not balanced well and its heavy. But if you want the great coin detector... this is it... :)

I'm having to go back some years to my thoughts on coming from an Explorer XS. If memory serves correctly the first things I noticed and liked were the reorientation of the target ID's on the screen and the grip angle is much better on the e-trac. As for weight and balance issues, I came from some old school HEAVY detectors and I think the explorers and e-trac are pretty light compared to where I've been. I take the e-trac up on the ski slopes for the day - enough said.

The target sounds are a little different and i remember somebody saying that the Explorer II still has the best 'target ID sounds of any of the series, explorers or e-tarc. But you have the general feel and understanding of the explorer, so the etrac follows that theme. I would get a copy of Andy's explorer / e-trac handbook to get a grasp of things the e-trac can do that the explorers cannot. My personal take is that the e-trac is more powerful and more refined detector than my old XS.

The pinpointing function on the Etrac is much better. Once you have the machine set up, about the only other difference you'll notice is that the target numbers are different.
