I have been using a Garrett groundhog I bought off ebay. It has done very well. I bought a Garrett 100 and the wife has taken it over. She found her first wheatie at a park in town, then she found another at a football field down the road. Yesturday she found her first silver, a 1953 rosie. We have found $50 in clad so far and it is all going into a Garrett 250 for myself soon. I still haven't found a silver rosie, but have found two mercury dimes. I was going to post a picture, but the batteries in the camera are dead.. HH Jonathan
 
You will love the ACE 250, I have an ACE 250 and a GTP 1350 and I don't know which one I like best.

Sounds like you're doing okay and well on your way to that 250. I'll take a Merc over a Rosie any day.
