Hey, Digger. What's the story with your new avatar pic?

I just noticed it today. Is that your lifetime collection of silver finds or just what you've gotten with the CTX? I know you've been at this for awhile, but that's pretty impressive!

Those 500 Walkers were part of a cache I recovered for a family about 4 years ago. HH Randy

Part? What else did you find?

Total was 1000+ silver halves, 100+ silver dollars, and a bucket of "old change". I don't know the exact $$ of the recovery as it was ALL turned over to the family (who accompanied me), after taking a few pictures. HH Randy

Wow. That is so amazing I don't even know what to say. Were they all lumped together or scattered in different caches?

Wow, so you have been there! Now I know why the question was asked! That is a great moment to dig up that amount of silver!

6 separate containers, all side by side, about 14 inches deep. Here is a link to the post "announcing" the find, back in 09. Respecting the wishes of the family who had me hunt for it, I had asked BarnacleBill, co-moderator of the X-TERRA forum at that time, to make the post and keep it "anonymous".

Good story. Very decent of you to help them without any expectations of payment/reward. I'm not sure I could have done it. I'd at least wanted ONE Morgan!! People get stoked when they find a silver dollar. You can say you found 200 in one yard! Ha ha.

Nice signature Randy. The last few lines says it all.

Digger,
Sure was a lot of negativity in that thread. My opinion? You make the agreement and stick with it with no hard feelings. I believe that is what is called honor.
Personally, I would have been on cloud 9 for weeks if I had been in your shoes. My farmer neighbor contacted me this last summer to find a piece off of his OLD farm equipment that would have cost thousands of dollars to have custom made. Found it right away. He tried to give me $50.00 and I said "No, you can't put a price on fun and the look on your face right now is compensation enough". I went home smiling.
Very good on your Randy!

Thanks for sharing your "anonymous" story Randy. I can only imagine that there was enough fun in that find to last a lifetime. :clapping:

"Well done Randy.
Sometimes it is best that a person who asked you to search for their lost ? accompany you.
On the very few and rare occasions that I haven't been able to find the lost ?, I've felt that they suspected the lost ? might have ended up in my pocket!
An awful feeling when you're trying hard to be helpful. After all, they called me.
One of the longest searches I have carried out for a person was in a very large home with gardens spread over approx 2.5 acres.
It took two half days to do. Even tipped out the wheelbarrows AND got 'down n' dirty' and searched the mulch piles where they tipped out the barrows!
When first meeting the lady who asked if I would come and look for it she did say she had been "at the gym the day it went missing and could have been stolen from her locker.
But I was also [all over] the yards???
Nutshell, never found the bracelet and felt her husband thought I had pocketed it!!!
In addition I never even mentioned the R word..and received a cheap bottle of Australian plonk for my troubles!":yikes:
