Hey Dave J What's the

Lag coefficient & Basic sensitivity on the Gold Bug S.E.?

Just wondering it was not in the manual..

Any help appreciated...

Thank's

Keith

don't have numbers handy

detectivity about same as F75 or a hair higher

lag coefficient about same as T2

Mine will be here Tomorrow and can't wait to see how she turned out after the tune up!!!
It was one of the best I have had at low conductor's ...

With the comparison's you give man that's is unreal especially with the stability of the unit at top end...It takes a quite unit with alot of power to pull those iffy target's and the G.B -S.E.

is the quietest high gain detector I have seen..

So what we can see is

T-2
Basic Sensitivity: 5x10 9 root Hertz (detectivity).
Lag Coefficient: 70 milliseconds-----------------------------------------------Gold Bug about the same here and the T-2 is already faster than the F-75 if you can even notice the 8 ms

F-75
Basic Sensitivity:6 x 109 root Hertz (detectivity)---------------------------Gold Bug more sensitive here than the f-75 which is already hotter than the T-2
Lag Coefficient:78 milliseconds

I would assume the higher sens is for seeing smaller target's like gold!!!

Glad it has a VCO all metal mode to me they seem to run smoother in harsher minerals...

Look's like we might have one fine detector......Glad I have the 11" Bi-Axial for it......I am off work all week and plan on putting her to some serious testing...!!!

I might also add the interface is the best I have seen from First Texas well actually anybody... they way it scrolls through the number's when making adjustments is almost fluid like...
sort of akin to a high end piece of Audio equipment...

Just real smooth feeling...

Thanks Dave

Keith

Hi Dave
I am just curious as to the veracity of the following statement from the Fisher website

"The MOST Sensitive Gold Hunting Detector Ever Made."

Fisher makes the same claim for both the Gold Bug and the Gold Bug 2. Are they equal as the the MOST SENSITIVE or is one more sensitive than the other??????
Surely they both can't possibly be the "The MOST Sensitive Gold Hunting Detector Ever Made."
We have two GB2's and one new GB (which is on its way back to the Fisher workshop) but in my opinion the GB2 still wins hands down. The new GB has a few problems so it will have to wait until it is repaired and returned to make a proper comparison. I have included a three page report with the returned GB that you might be interested in reading, it details some problems that I think need addressing.
And actually the most sensitive gold detector in my opinion is the Falcon MD20
Cheers
