Hey Chuck, UPS Delivered my Vaquero, couple hours ago

I got to tell you man, when the guy handed me the box, I was wondering if the Vaquero was in there, this thing is light, I have walking sticks that weigh more than the Vaquero. I can swing this thing all day long with no problem.

I put it togeather and did some air testing, nickel at 13", dime at 10" and these were solid hits in both modes, the disc mode was super tuned. Took it in the back yard to the nail garden, ground balanced in about 30 seconds in a clean area, then sicked it on the nails, it ran quite as a mouse. I don't have any coins buried in my back yard yet, because we just moved in 6 months ago and the back yard is in the planning stage, but a coin and jewelry garden in on the short list.

Thanks for the fast service and answering all of my questions, I believe I made the right choice on the Vaquero, it is the lightest detector that I have ever used, hits hard, has excellent discrimination and air test as deep as any detector that I have used. So far I have used the Explorer, DFX, MXT, GTI 2500, CoinStrike, IDX, LST, Compass AU52, and a few others that I can't remember right now, but I think the Vaquero will be able to run with the pack.

Tommorow morning I am going to take it to an old park and see what it can do, I will post the results after the hunt.

Thanks Again

Hey Colt:

Something tells me you're darn excited about your new Vaquero. And being you've used all those other "big hitters", it will be interesting to hear how the Vaq stacks up.:nerd:

Hi Dick

I have enjoyed every detector that I have used, and found a lot of stuff with all of them, I picked the Vaquero because I am starting to get interested in relic hunting. In the past I was focused on coins and jewelry and have tossed buckets of relics off to the side, kinda like a badger digging for a goffer, everything else is just in the way.

I been reading the relic forums and decided as much of that stuff as I find, mind as well collect it and see what it is worth, I think the Vaquero will do a good job.
