if while you are detecting for gold if you ever hunt this area? I was reading an article in an archaeology magazine and it talked about Kimberly spearhead points being found in that area. I was wondering if you have found any while detecting for gold. HH Dennis in Idaho

Beautiful part of Oz but no. I have only ever hunted in Queensland and the Victorian goldfields.
The only odd archaeological find I made, my wife actually, was an aboriginal grinding stone.
Found a couple of meteorites once but at the time didn't know what they were and turfed them. A few years later a friend showed me a great find he made, a meteorite, which looked just like the things I had dug up. Never found one since.

Thanks for the response B.T. I was just curious as those spear points are worth a lot of money and I am sure there are a lot of folks looking for them to put into museums etc. I can only dream of finding one of these beauties. HH Dennis in Idaho

According to the article they were made by the Aborinines and were crafted from glass and stone. HH Dennis in Idaho
