Hey all you MXT users.....

That has been the mode that my wife and myself has used for the deeper coins we have got with the MXT. I found I did much better in the relic mode and go by the higher tones and then the ID numbers plus can swing the coil faster without looking at the number like i had to in the coin mode.

Absolutely! I use Relic Mode 100% of the time. Love it! Now when you say deep I'm not talking about finding coins 12"-18"...it can be done but that's rediculous! I find most of my old coins at about 8 or 9 inches deep and THAT'S deep in my opinion! Rarely have I ever found any older coins deeper than 10 inches. There are exceptions but for the most part 7-10 inches is deep in my book.

I fully agree!! I use Relic Mode mostly, but recently I've been using Prospecting Mode and going by VDI number and % iron as a guide. I seem to get a little more sensitivity and MAYBE a little more depth, but that could be my imagination. It works great for me, but requires a bit more attention.

I always use the relic mode and zero disc. when hunting old homesteads. Which means I use it about 90% of the time. In parks I tend to use the coin mode. Darn pulltabs.

I have found wheat cents at depths of 7 or8 with the relic mode, and i also found a old brass wind up key to at 7'' down. I love the relic mode.:clapping::happy:
