I have a question for you about a Mexican coin I found last year. I hope you might be able to help me.
The coins diameter is slightly smaller than a US five cent coin but almost twice as thick.
On the obverse it has $20, 1985. The head of a man with, G VICTORIA under his collar.
The coin is gold in color. On the screen, the curser hit about where a US zinc one cent coin hits at, and the tone was the same as.
Do you have any idea what I have found, Could it be gold?
Val.

Val, If you don't get a response, just take it to a good coin dealer. They have their little ways of determining whether it is gold or not. One way is with a chemical test. Then, of course, there are their books. I'll bet even money that any coin dealer worth his/her salt will know most gold coins, foreign and domestic, on sight.
All the Best. <><

I do not think it is gold since Mexico was not minting Gold peso's at that time. Let us know what you find out.
