............That beach club Im goin to next week has this OLDEST beach that hasnt been in use since the '30s-Overgrown with cattails,reeds,etc-BIG PROB IS these big nasty lookin BLACK WATER SNAKES:biteme:that reside in said pond...........Im takin my waders, but HOW will I keep 'em away from me??I have these visions of them repulsive things crawling into my waders while I got them on,-:yikes::help:WHAT TO DO???

Put your waders on while you are in your car and away from the said pond with the Big Black Snakes! Make sure they are high enough to be above the water's depth to keep the snakes out, hopefully, and use caution when digging with your scoop and hauling some of them up, also! But most likely these snakes, if harmless, will leave you alone and be more scared of you! Go in faith and peace and pray a lot and go get the goodies! Otherwise, don't detect there and go where it is a better place for you to detect! :) May God Bless and keep you safe from all harms....snakes, water spiders and/or human enemies! Amen! Ma Betty

No worries! There are no snakes looking to get you. They will swim away when you are anywheres near them.
Next thing is our water snakes are just that. They are not Water Moccasins.

I've seen water snakes as far north as Marquette with attitudes....they ram the boat repeatedly...crazy critters.

If anyone watched the Anaconda movies....they will be afraid of the water.....remember it is only a movie...well up here it is because we have no Anacondas....Thank God.

they can't hurt us! :starwars:

Cotton mouth moccasins are aggressive and territorial......down here in GA. ....hh.....Dan

Welcome wiimii to the CMD Forum! There have been water moccasins (Cottonmouths) as far north as Missouri. They have bitten and killed swimmers and I don't like snakes of any kind, especially water snakes, although most are harmless! I don't care for guiney snakes but I don't bother them as they kill the rattlers and copperheads so they do a good deed for farm people and those who have cabins in the woods! May God Bless and post often if you like! Glad to have you with us! Ma Betty
