Het Doc, Got any Motherships in stock?

Hi Doc,

Do you have any of these in stock...

I'll be wanting the DD version. What is the cable length? Can the cable be extended? Maximum recommended length? I want to tow it behind a 4-wheeler. I'm assuming the farther I get it away from the motor the less issues I'll have with interference.

It is better to keep the control box near the coil, and extend the headphone cable to the operator of an ATV.

The ATV's seem to cause interference so it is important to try and keep the control box away from the ATV.

Steve, I gotta agree with Doc on keeping the main back by the coil and running an extension cord to your headphones. I finished mine this evening and ready for Rye Patch in 3 weeks!! Will have pics!
Now Steve, I have a question for you. I believe you have had both. I'm going to pull the sled out in the open range (very little trash)using the GP3K, when I get a confirmed signal, I'll stop and find the target with either an 18000 or an MXT. Bedrock is shallow and not hot. I'm leaning toward the 18000, what do you think?

Hi shep,

That was good info... I never would have thought to keep the control box near the coil and extend the headphones!

Frankly, I think the 1800 versus MXT is pretty much a "whatever floats your boat" sort of thing. I'd prefer the MXT myself, but I'm sure the 18000 would work also. The performance of the two units is very close and one or the other will maybe have a slight edge over the other depending on the exact nature of the ground and the gold. It is a better question for those who have hunted Rye Patch and used the two there.

The other question is whether youi might want to use the unit for more than prospecting. The MXT beats the 18000 hands down for all around versatility which is why I like it.
