Yesterday I found a heavily corroded 1853O silver dime. It was so corroded I thought it was a copper coin. Even after hitting it with soap and water. Picture one and two show the dime, yesterday, after scrubbing it hard with a toothbrush. I then soaked it for 24 hours in a solution of one cup of lemon juice and a tablespoon of salt. Today, I cleaned it again with a toothbrush and all the corrosion came off. I then polished it with warm water and Cream of Tartar. It's not a liquid, but a powder used in cooking. The dime isn't in the greatest shape, but it is now corrosion free. Thought you might like that tip in case you find a badly corroded coin.
