Hermit Thrush

do you hand hold the camera and if so what shutter speed do you use. What flash? Are you using a long lens or just sneaking up on the suckers? What lens are you using?

Your pictures are very sharp and I just don't seem to be able to get such results.

Any information you can share on getting these great pictures would be appreciated by more than myself:thumbup:

Thanks Royal,
This was taken with a old manual focus lens I just bought. 300 mm f/4.5 My eyes aren't as good as they used to be so not as sharp as I want. I hand hold all my pictures which is why I'm having problems with the D200. It is not forgiving at all when hand held. I have made myself a bean bag for taking pictures out of the car window and this will keep the blur down. I think these pictues were taken at 1/320 seconds. I do most of my pictures in Aperture Priority mode. I'm selling the manual focus lens and hope to buy a 300mm f/4 af which will be much sharper. I seldom use a flash.
Again Thanks
