Here's the X-series DD coil I've been testing out.....

Many of the long-time Fisher people that have been around here awhile always asked/ wished for DD coils. Well, I had heard the name "Excellerator" coils before & I think KellyCo sold them at one time. I always thought they were just for like Minelab's & Whites, but apparently this European made, large DD coil was made for X-series Fishers for a short time too. There's still a website for Excellerator coils, but the Fisher portion is now blank so I bet they are no longer made unfortunately for X-series fans. I imagine they are pretty rare as Mr. Bill & I are always on the lookout for different Fisher coils, & never saw this one. We got the rare elipticals & the tiny snipers, both no longer made.
Well, I have been testing it out on my 1270 and it really is a killer coil. A little huge @ about 13" for trashy or DIV hunting, but for fields & stuff deep as heck! In my test bed I can lift it up a few more inches off the ground & hear things clearly still. In disc mode with a fixed ground balance too! ;) With all the fancy target ID features and lighter weight units favored now, we forget just how deep units like the 1270 are. I'll have to put it head to head against a 10.5" Fisher spyder coil next and see what happens. It's lighter than the big spyders so I may not need both anymore.....
HH,
Bill

Looking forward to see how it does against the spyder coil, sure wish I could find an elliptical for my 1270. Derek

Pictured by Kellyco recently [2 sizes]. Mike Bearden has been using one on a ML SE and reports extreme depth,
to include primer caps and cuff buttons , so there is no lessening of resolution on very tiny targets.
I know this type of loop is for sale in the UK for the F-75 and is made by a company there. The Bulgarian
company that KELLYCO uses for their Excelerator line of coils are more closely resonance matched
and much more sensitive. I hope one is released for the F-75 and F-70, because the demand is HERE NOW!
[EMAIL KELLYCO AND LET THEM KNOW.]:detecting:
