I found this class ring a couple of years ago. It's white and there is no karat stamp on it.
I assumed it was one of those cheapie class rings that are so common anymore.
I put it on my electronic tester this morning, and it read 12K. I doubted that, so I got a fine knife stone and rubbed down just under the surface of the ring on the bottom.
To my surprise it held steady at 10K for several tries.
so, it gets entered in my records as a gold find.
I don't remember where I got it anymore, so it will end up eventually being recycled by Midwest refineries in Michigan.
A good place to sell my scrap rings, by the way.
Anyhow, I've been aching for something to "show and tell". <img src="/metal/html/smile.gif" border=0 width=15 height=15 alt="">
For Dusty Diver: it's a find, oh yes it is, no whining!!
