I can hardly believe it, no pitting anywhere on this 1723 coin, wish all large pennies came out of the ground looking this good. There is a harp next to the seated liberty. Also found this John Lauson Co. Frost King Gasoline Engine medal. Both were found in an old crop field, plus a few wheaties.

fantastic finds! The penny, like you mention, is in super shape!

great saves, soil must have been sweet, bet the wheats were in great shape also...CONGRATS,on a great day!

and found this King George penny or Halfpenny, (GEORGIUS REX & BRITANIA), no other coins found. It's in poor condition. Date is hard to read but when held at the right angle looks like 1723 again. No pitting, but this coin had a lot of wear when it was dropped. Back in the 1700's most farmers were poor, maybe because they kept losing all their money while picking corn. Was less than 6" deep in the wooded section of the property.

That 1723 Hibernia is in great shape for its age and being dug! Congrats on the super coin find!

Justin
