Here's My Latest Addition To My Metal Detecting Hobby:biggrin:

I ordered a light tent last week, and it arrived today. It's used to help get rid of shadows when photographing items, and defuses the light which allows better photos when taking closeups of shiny rings with diamonds. My kit comes with a cub tent, 3 colors of back drop, two lights + stands plus a camera stand fully adjustable for height and angle. It packs up into a nice small package, resembling the size of a laptop computer case.

Below is a closeup of a 22 ricochet bullet. Looks like I have a bit of a learning curve ahead of me. Oh well.........winters coming. :)

Nice set up...I need to get me one of those along with a decent camera...then I need to get an Ebay account and start moving some of this metal!:lmfao:

Nice setup! Where did you get it?

If you set the ISO higher, use a smaller aperture and slower shutter speed, the depth of field will increase. The autoexposure probably exposed for the light-colored surface and underexposed the small and darker bullet. Try using exposure compensation or set the exposure manually to address that.

Looks very nice John. Looking forward to all your professional photos now of all your found goodies. :thumbup:HH jim tn

Nice set up, John. Somebody from Ebay sent me something about a set up like that after I bought some camera parts. I may not know how to take good photos, but I've fixed my digital point and shoot camera twice. I have a large tripod, but just don't use it very often. Looking forward to your photos when you get it figured out, but most of what you post is pretty crisp and clear anyway.

Professional photos? Not quite, but I am looking forward to learning more about the different settings on my camera. I usually adjust the outside light and shoot in automatic, so I have a bit to learn.

if ur camera has a macro mode try it. I'll 2nd the depth of field suggestion.

You just answered my question about how you were taking such nice pictures. Thank You very much for the Sacagewiea ring, I had to take it out to try to get a better picture for everyone.

Cool, my pics usually suck and I only put casual effort into them.
