the 1792.........only 9 known & it just sold at auction for $437,000.! <img src="/metal/html/shocked.gif" border=0 width=15 height=15 alt=":shock"> Now that's something us colonial hunters can shoot for! (yea right I never even saw one of these, & always assumed the rare chain cent was first. This one has that same design as the Half Disme....another dream coin that HAS been detected, last year in fact...(& that should easily have been the top find over on "another forum"). HH, Bill

The Manufacturers ought to give away new detectors to people who make dream finds like that half disme. I agree it should have been the top find, nothing else posted over there came close in rarity or excitement.

I always kinda assumed the Half Disme was one of those coins you see a pic. of in the Red Book, but never have a chance of actually digging one. But, I guess the thrill of the hunt is what it's all about <img src="/metal/html/tongue.gif" border=0 width=15 height=15 alt=":b"> I think Don said it was sent to Western & Eastern treasures magazine....I hope so, I'd love to read the story behind that find.
