I found the class ring yesterday, just didn't get around to posting it. Looks like it has been in the water awhile.

I almost never post gold rings that are not stamped. The class ring sounded gold, but no stamp. It is really worn down and very smooth on the inside. It is broke. I figured it was 10k if anything. Then there are 2 14k rings there and 2 18k rings, the earring is stamped 14k with the diamond ct mark also.

Yeah, it sure looks like gold. I was curious if it sounded off because of the break in the ring? I get a few rings now and again that are tide compressed like that. It's always interesting to me that the ocean and sand can do that. It looks to have been in that spot a while. I bet there is more where that came from there.

When rings are "sized" they are reconnected with silver solder or some such, which gets eroded away by wave action and water chemistry to leave the gap.

I've seen it many times over the years and usually the mass of metal is still sufficient to give a good signal..
