My Vibraprobe 560 went paws up so I ordered one of them new fangled 570's. Wanting to take the new toy for a spin I pulled the Edge with the small coil down off the rack for a little adventure turf hunting. The new 570 is supposed to be more sensitive(greater depth), which it is, yet still be directional off of the tip.

What I discovered is:

1. It does have greater depth.
2. It does no better than the 560 on small items like gold chains.
3. It is not as directional as the 560 by any means.
4. To achieve the greater depth the tip must be moved(ing) towards the target.

This last point I found rather annoying, well really annoying. So rather than be able to home in on the target and end up with the tip pressed up against the sidewall of the hole. You have to bobb the stupid thing constantly which makes it very difficult to judge the distance to target by vibration intensity like on a 560.:rage: Only when you are pressing up against the target will it continually vibrate. I think this thing needs to be sent in and upgraded to the latest R6 firmware.:rofl::rofl:

Nonetheless, the Edge with small coil made a fine showing in an area filled with rusty bottle caps that are the bane of those large DD coils.

Came away with a 1937 Wheatie, 1890 Injun, 1904 dime & and old Costume gold gilded broach.
