Looks like every state has some activity just about...

If you cant get on the fort site look for the roads coming in and check out about every 20 miles for creeks they would make good overnight camps while traveling to and from the forts sites!!

Great site , Keith some times the best information comes from some one like your self who see's a site or a book and knows it helps his fellow detectorist . I found one of those spots your talking about and it gave me a extra fine 1877 seated dime . But I'm on to several other creek sites just getting permission thats the trick . You know you also have to go with a hunch too .
 
Great site, full of good info- I found out stuff I didn't know about my own town.
