Here's a UK detecting view I'll never forget ...

... we were privledged to detect on a huge farm on the other side of the road from this Celtic (pre Christian) monument. The horse was cut from the sod down to bedrock. No one knows why.

To get an idea of the size of scale, note the truck on the highway in the lower right portion of the photo. I'm guessing the horse is almost 3/4 of a mile from nose to hind leg tip.

Near this area are series of huge mounds, obviously man made, some all by themselves, some grouped together in 2's, 3's, and 4's. Also in the area is a massive circle of huge stones second in size to stonehinge.

The horse mountain is north facing. The fields we were detecting were south facing and have given up coins from Celtic, Roman, Medieval, through the 1930's and 40's.
 
.... copper alloy, 1625 - 1649. This coin is almost 1/2" wide.

... it may take a few months for processing. Fortunately my Brit friends know a few of the FLO's and the process quite well.
