We're down river from the floods so our area of the river won't crest till tonite.
I thank God we live on a hill and sustained minimal damage at our house. So many still without fresh food, water, power, heat or gas but, everyone's pitching in anything they can for relief in the hardest hit areas. Semi's full of stuff are heading there right now.

Yup it is rain...When we get a warm wind off the pacific ocean this time of year it is called a "pinneapple express". Brings gazillions of gallons of moisture onshore and when the clouds ram into the cascade mountains they just build and build until the water falls with a fury.
A dike broke which is what caused the flooding.

The Area In The Picture Has Looked Like That Many Times Before---Its A Area That Just Does NOT Drain Well---I Have Drove Through There On I-5 When The Water Had Just Went Down Enough To Open The Freeway---I Live Around 40 Miles South Of There And Nothing Happened Here---But In Port. There Around Johnson Area That Will Do That If Someone Goes In The Creek (Well Almost That Bad) It Takes Very Little Rain To Flood There---Any Body That's Lived Here Very Long KNOWS The Area's You Don't Want To Live Around ! ----There Are ALSO Certain Area (Where Dumb People Will Build A House) The Ground Will Slide---- That Has Been Happening In Washougal Wa. and Astoria Or. For The Last 3-4 Years---Houses (New) Just All At Once Move Right On Down The Hillside !
