Took a chance yesterday to see if one of my beaches that clears earliest in the spring might have some open sand, because I'm really going stir crazy. Lo & behold some small patches at the highest point of this beach had started to clear, with a couple little patches about 10ft x 10ft.

No earth shattering finds, but just getting out in the sun & fresh air is worth every minute. I always take time to stop occasionally from digging to just look around and take it all in. At least when they shove my butt into a nursing home and start changing my diapers, I'll be able to look back and appreciate these moments.

The most interesting item was the old Gargoyle(Mobil Oil) screw on top. What sized can or barrel it would fit I have no idea, being about the size of a U.S. half dollar. The little green broken cast toy airplane might have some age to it. All in all the oldest coin was a 1964 Jeff. Coils used were the 10.5 DD HF and 6 inch DD HF, as some patches of ground were just trash pits, and anything that didn't solidly ID as iron got dug.

Beats the heck out of driving the couch!

Good job on getting out and checking the beach! I like the Gargoyle cap, very unique, Good hunt, Beale.

Nice finds. Any idea what the thing in the middle of the picture is? I am talking about the thing with the three spikes. Looks interesting to me. Peter

Hello Peter,

I believe the metal piece with the spikes may be part of a buckle for a belt made of canvas or nylon webbing. This is just a guess.
