Godd Idea. About a year back I was walking with my MXT in its carrying case. It is a black bag and low and behold an officer of the law pulled up in a cruiser. He asked what I was carrying in the bag, and I told him. He asked to open it and I did. Seems he thought it was a rifle I was toting down the streets of our fair city.
Sometimes it pays to be discreet.

I bought a bag off ebay that is made by Browning. Its their shot gun bag. 2 sides in it with the middle having the foam sown in.Works perfect for mxt and 2 coils and has plenty of room in other side for accessories.

I don't mind using the case that came with the detector but now i'm accumulating extra coils. Been thinking about buying a compound bow case for them.Geeeeeeeeeeze how we accumumulate <span style="background-color:#ffff00;">STUFF!

That sounds like a great idea! Do you have a model number or name, or any other info.?

the coil I plan on using attached, leaving the bag in the truck. I have the Whites bag but it always seemed kind of awkward to continually zip it up etc. It ended up just always sitting on the back seat of the tk. w/the detector sitting on "top" of it. I had an upholstery friend make me a heavy vinyl/canvas type of tube with a zipper across one end. That makes it quick and real easy to slide the detector into when I get back to the tk. and still protect it some if it rolls off the seat etc.
I also use a deep gym type of bag to carry the other crap which includes 4 misc. coils attached to the rods along w/everything else one accumulates. The coil rods just stick out over each end a bit, the coils at one end w/the rods going out the top of the opposite end, two going each way to balance things out a bit and the carrying straps being in the center, it works great.

Check out this Jimmy Sierra bag.

I thought you wanted to get away from that look.
How about one of those inexpensive hard plastic Bow (without arrows) cases found at Wally Mart etc?

It's because he didn't close the <span style="background-color:#ffff00;">highlight with a [ / hi ].

I dont want to ruffle any feathers here!
There is always going to be some ladder climbing, back stabbing wannbe going to cause problems! (ie.. the cop).
I found this bag on ebay and it fits the new whites design and protects the detector real well.
Do a search under "whites" or go to www.gerrysdectectors.com
He sell this bag for around $60.00 plus shipping and it retails for around $135.00. It is a Browning bag.

Welllllll in ky at least after the nice policeman asked me to show what was inside my case, i would show him and then show him my concealed carry permit then i would let him check out my glock if he wanted to see a gun actually, cause i always try to help.......

I can relate being investigated by police. My situation was a bit different though. I was doing some hunting along a city street, and a cruiser came up and asked if I was ok. I said I sure was, considering I had just pulled a 1925 Canadian quarter from the ground. I asked him if I was doing something illegal. He said, "no", and chuckled. It seems some elderly woman saw me with my metal detector, and not knowing what it was, reported me as some blind man crawling around on my knees trying to get up, as she figured I had fallen down. The officer and I laughed, and he went to the lady who reported me, and assured everything was just fine.
