For that Beaver dam to grow that large over the past forty or fifty years, I question if there are any natural enemies to control their population. I was surprised to hear mention that the area is considered flat land...bet there are some good fish in the pond behind the dam. Royal, thanks for posting this story, very interesting and enjoyable. When they did, the river threatened to take out a large section of the property. I went down and kicked the dam apart [figuratively...... those things are VERY well made]. After several times of kicking, the beavers decided to move and set up home elsewhere.
